Special Education Teacher in Antioch, CA

An exciting opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support Kindergarten and 1st grade students in a Special Day Class (SDC) setting. This direct hire role offers a rewarding chance to guide young learners for the remainder of the  school year. • Holds an active California Special Education teaching credential
• Experience working with students in SDC environments preferred
• Strong ability to collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and school support staff
• Skilled in classroom management, communication, and fostering positive relationships
• Committed to adapting curriculum to meet a variety of student needs

• Manage a caseload of Kindergarten and 1st grade students within the SDC classroom
• Develop and implement effective, individualized education programs (IEPs)
• Modify and adapt lessons to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
• Work collaboratively with general education teachers and paraprofessionals to ensure student success
• Offer academic, social, and emotional support to promote each child’s growth
• Maintain full compliance with federal and state special education guidelines and reporting
