Essential duties and responsibilities include assisting the principal with clerical tasks such as word processing, document creation, and appointment scheduling. They also assist building administration with necessary clerical tasks and help the head secretary in the successful operation of the school office. They greet and assist school visitors, following appropriate school and district procedures regarding visitors. They assist in the distribution of parent, student, and staff communications including report cards, test results, newsletters, and spring registration packets.
They answer the telephone and provide accurate information and/or route calls or messages to the appropriate school employee. They assist in ordering and inventory management of school office supplies. They also assist with the scheduling and other tasks related to building events. Other related duties may be assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
They also assist students within the school setting—behaviorally, emotionally, and academically. They provide supervision to students in nonacademic settings.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. The starting hourly range is $17.15. Full-time positions include benefits per the ASP contract which can be found at
