Long-Term Substitute: 1st Grade Elementary Teacher
The elementary school teacher is responsible for creating a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth of students. The teacher plans and implements lessons in a variety of subjects, assesses student progress, and collaborates with parents, colleagues, and administrators to ensure the success of each child.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Instructional planning and delivery
- The classroom environment
- Professional responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in elementary education
- Certification and license as required by the Illinois State Board of Education and the Regional Office of Education
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Knowledge of current educational and instructional methodologies and techniques
- Knowledge of theories and practices of child development
Physical demands include standing, walking, sitting, kneeling, lifting, and bending, as necessary to fulfill job responsibilities.
