Role Description

This is a full‑time, on‑site Dirt Foreman role based in Apache Junction, AZ. The Dirt Foreman oversees daily earthwork and grading operations, including planning tasks, assigning work to crew members, and monitoring productivity and quality. This position coordinates equipment usage, ensures grades and elevations are set correctly, and works closely with project managers, superintendents, and survey teams to maintain schedules. The Dirt Foreman enforces safety standards, conducts job‑site inspections, and addresses potential hazards or issues promptly.

Daily responsibilities include reading plans, checking progress against project specifications, resolving field problems, and completing basic documentation such as timecards and daily reports.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience supervising dirt, grading, or earthwork crews on construction sites, with the ability to lead, train, and motivate team members.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, grade stakes, elevations, and basic surveying concepts related to earthwork.
  • Hands‑on familiarity with heavy equipment operations (e.g., dozers, loaders, excavators, graders) and coordination of equipment on site.
  • Solid commitment to job‑site safety, including adherence to OSHA standards and company safety policies, with a track record of promoting safe work practices.
  • Effective communication skills for coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, inspectors, and crew members, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan daily and weekly work, prioritize tasks, and maintain schedules in a fast‑paced field environment.
  • Basic proficiency with construction‑related documentation, such as daily reports, timekeeping, and material tracking; comfort using mobile devices or tablets is helpful.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training in construction, civil engineering technology, or related fields is an advantage.
  • Previous experience in heavy civil, site development, or utility work in the Southwest region is preferred.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job, including working outdoors in varying weather, standing, walking, and lifting as required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from the Apache Junction, AZ job sites.
