Orchestra Teacher

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for an Orchestra Teacher for the academic year for our ALA Radiance campus, located in Apache Junction, AZ. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

• Plans, rehearses and directs orchestra classes, grades (Jazz, Concert, Marching) with a minimum of four evening performances per school year.
• Cooperates with the district and school administration in providing music programs for sporting events, school productions, graduation ceremonies and as appropriate, civic functions that enhance the students’ performing experience.
• Seeks performance opportunities and implements participation of the orchestra in out-of-schoool orchestra experiences appropriate to the curriculum and student interests.
• Helps to manage the inventory, storage and use of school owned equipment and materials
• Is able to make minor adjustments and repairs to instruments.
• Prepares effective lessons/rehearsals that reflect accommodations for individual student differentiation.
• Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
• Creates an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Music Performance, or related field
• Arizona Teaching Certificate or 24 credit hours in area or Content knowledge exams (AEPA, NES, Praxis)
