Positions in this class assist police staff with a wide range of tasks. This is a volunteer position and does not offer any compensation.
Volunteers are integral to the operations of the Apache Junction Police Department,
Providing Essential Support Across Various Functions. These volunteer opportunities allow community members to assist police personnel with routine tasks, improving efficiency and contributing to the department's overall mission.
- Proactive patrol in a marked auxiliary vehicle
- Assist with traffic control on police scenes and during events
- Participate in police-related community events
- Assist in routine tasks around the department
- Assist with fleet maintenance
- Ability to lift 30-50 pounds
- Ability to operate an auxiliary marked patrol vehicle
- Ability to communicate clearly through police radios
- Ability to take direction and adhere to chain of command during field operations
- Possess valid drivers license
- Follow oral and written instructions accurately
- Possess strong communication skills, both oral and written

Commitment: A minimum of one year of service is required, with commitment of at least 16 hours per month. Exceptions for fewer hours may be considered based on department needs and the volunteer's residency status.

Monday through Thursday

7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Must be 18 years or older. - Background Check:
Volunteers must pass a thorough background investigation, fingerprint clearance, and oral board interviews.
