Job Description & How to Apply Below

Western Industrial Resources Corporation is a heavy industrial construction and services company serving pipeline, mining, power, and refining clients across the Southwest. Our people are the foundation of everything we do — and going home safe every day is non-negotiable. We hire maintenance professionals who take ownership of their craft, partner with operations, and are personally committed to reliability and safe work.

We are seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Electrician to keep critical equipment and electrical systems running safely and efficiently. This role will troubleshoot issues, perform preventive maintenance, and support operations in a heavy industrial environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) on a defined schedule across electrical systems and industrial machinery; document PM completion and findings to prevent unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical and electromechanical faults in production equipment, motor control systems, PLCs, and instrumentation using multimeters, megohmmeters, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging tools.
  • Inspect, install, maintain, and repair electrical systems and equipment across the facility — wiring, switch gear, motor controls, transformers, lighting, and process equipment.
  • Follow all safety regulations and site-specific procedures, including lockout-tagout (LOTO), arc flash, fall protection, confined space, and hot work permits.
  • Use electrical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and one-line diagrams to perform installations, repairs, and modifications.
  • Maintain detailed maintenance records — work orders, PM history, failure analysis, parts used — through the site's CMMS or equivalent system. Order and stage electrical supplies as needed.
  • Communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, and site leadership about equipment status, root causes, and repair timelines. Train operators and junior technicians on safe use of electrical equipment.
  • Support installation of new equipment, electrical upgrades, and capital project commissioning as needed.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and after-hours callouts as needed..

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Medium-voltage experience (4160V and above), substation work.
  • PLC programming experience in ladder logic (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, GE).
  • Instrumentation & controls experience — process control loops, sensors, transmitters.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (Maximo, SAP PM, eMaint, UpKeep).
  • Welding or mechanical cross-training (multi-skilled maintenance is highly valued).
  • MSHA certification or willingness to obtain (for mining-site assignments).

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold), weather, dust, noise, vibration, and varying terrain.
  • Work at heights, on scaffolding, ladders, and elevated platforms.
  • Work in confined spaces with appropriate permits and training.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally; carry tools and parts throughout shift.
  • Standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, and crawling for extended periods.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend callouts for emergency repairs as part of the on-call rotation.
  • Reasonable accommodation will be provided for individuals with disabilities where possible.
  • Competitive hourly pay ($38-$44/hr) based on experience and certification level
  • Comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental, vision and disability insurance
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Overtime pay and on-call premium pay.
  • Company-paid training and certification path (NFPA 70E, PLC training, manufacturer certifications, MSHA).
  • Company-provided tools and equipment.
  • Boot, PPE, and uniform allowance.
