Wastewater Utility Worker

Apache Junction Sewer District (AJSD) is the sewer service provider for the City of Apache Junction.

AJSD is seeking an individual to perform skilled work and manual labor involved in the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of the District’s wastewater collection system. Some of the responsibilities of this position include the installation, maintenance, operation and repair of sewer mains, manholes, service lines, disconnect cleanouts, force mains and lift stations.

The individual selected for this position will be required to perform on-call duty outside of regular plant hours, including evenings and weekends, on a rotating basis and is required to live within one hour of the treatment facility.

Required

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must obtain a Class A Arizona CDL with tanker endorsement within 1 year of employment
• Must obtain a Grade 1 Wastewater Collection System Operator certification from ADEQ within 1 year of employment

Preferred Experience:

• Experience in the wastewater or water utility industry
• Experience in confined space entry and trench safety
