Title: EHS Coordinator III/Site-Specific Safety Manager.
Location:
Apex NC

Contract:

Up to 36 months with possible extension dependent on project progress.

Hours of the Shift: 8-5 but could require occasional early/late work or weekends

Position Summary:
Client Building is seeking an experienced and dedicated Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO) to oversee and enforce safety protocols for a large, multi-year project. The SSHO will ensure full compliance with federal (OSHA), state (NC OSHA), and local safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
" Ensure compliance with the site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) and all applicable safety policies.
" Conduct daily safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and operational practices.
" Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures to maintain compliance with safety standards.
" Lead daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for all site personnel.
" Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety violations; develop and document corrective and preventive action plans.
" Maintain complete and accurate safety documentation, including logs, permits, inspection reports, and training records.
" Coordinate with subcontractors to verify their safety programs and training meet project-specific requirements.
" Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for all safety-related matters.
" Collaborate with project teams to identify hazards and develop proactive risk mitigation strategies.

Qualifications:
" Bachelor s degree in E nvironmental Health & Safety or a related field, or a minimum of five (5) years of EHS experience in construction safety, preferably on large-scale commercial projects required.
" OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
" Must possess or be willing and able to obtain within 6 months a CHST, ASP, or CSP certification.
" Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
" Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
" Proven ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.

Preferred Skills:
" Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency preferred.
