Assistant Principal Of Academics
The ideal candidate will work with school leaders to build and maintain a positive and safe school climate and carry out the school's academic programs and perform teacher evaluations, attend and guide PLC meetings and work with data for overall student and staff growth. Further, the candidate will work closely with school counselors and school personnel to develop a strong school culture in which students grow to exemplify our core values.
Required Experience:
- B.A./B.S. degree from an accredited institution in education and/or a related field
- Master's Degree in the specified content area (reading, math, etc.), curriculum and instruction, or administration
- 5+ years of experience in teaching or school administration
- 1+ years of experience in MTSS planning and implementation
- 1+ years of experience in successfully implementing a PBIS (or related) plan
- Possession of a current North Carolina Professional Educator's License

- Creates processes for teachers to assume leadership and decision-making roles

- Systematically and personally involves him/herself in the school's professional activities
- Ensures the school has processes and systems in place for budgeting, staffing, problem solving, communicating expectations, and scheduling that result in organizing the work routines of the school
- Develops the master schedule that provides collaborative planning for every teacher
- Develops and enforces clear expectations, structures, rules, and procedures for students and staff
- Designs structures and processes that result in community engagement, support, and ownership
- Creates a system that engages all community stakeholders in shared responsibility for student and school success
- Ensures compliance with state and TMSA mandates
- Builds systems and relationships with staff in order to leverage their expertise, power, and influence to realize the school's vision for success
- Creates environment and mechanisms to ensure all internal stakeholder voices are heard and respected
- Uses performance as the primary criterion for reward and advancement
- Leader's work will result in acceptable, measurable progress for students based on established performance expectations and will use appropriate data to demonstrate growth
- This area is based on a school-wide student growth value as calculated by the statewide growth model for educator effectiveness
