Location: Apex, North Carolina – TMSA Public Charter Schools
Reports To: Principal
Contract Length: 195 Days
Position Type: Full-Time
Salary: $58,500 to $71,750 Per Year
Job DescriptionA TMSA teacher has the right mindset and skills to succeed in an environment of high expectations while also being a true team player. The teachers demonstrate the competencies, energy, and positive attitude needed to encourage and teach all students in their academic and social preparedness.

- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree
- Current North Carolina teaching license, or be in the process of obtaining one
- Prior teaching experience is preferred, but not required
- Knows and understands the NC State Standard Course of Study to develop proficient and effective lesson plans for grade level/subject areas.
- Establishes a safe and orderly environment and a culture to empower students.
- Manages classroom behaviors and minimizes disruptions to learning.
- Participates in the MTSS process and procedures at TMSA to provide equitable and valuable education for all students.
- Demonstrates leadership behaviors from the Leader In Me program that TMSA implements school wide.
- Works collaboratively with school personnel to create a professional learning community.
- Develops goals and strategies through the school improvement plan.
- Is open to constructive feedback from lead teachers, coaches, and administrators.
- Can differentiate instruction according to students' needs.
- Collaborates with colleagues to mentor and support teachers to improve the effectiveness of the department or grade level.
- Appreciates differences and values contributions of each student by building positive, appropriate relationships.
- Regularly assesses students, both formative and summative.
- Demonstrates technology/instructional media competency to enhance learning.
- Works with parents and guardians to promote positive behavioral support and a respectful yet nurturing learning environment.
