Process Engineer – Drug Substance Manufacturing
Summary
The Process Engineer supports drug substance manufacturing by translating process requirements into equipment functionality and automation needs. This role partners closely with process, automation, and commissioning teams to ensure downstream purification processes are accurately implemented and integrated into automated systems.
Responsibilities- Translate process requirements into equipment functionality and automation requirements across drug substance manufacturing operations.
- Interpret process needs and ensure alignment with already‑designed and IFC’d equipment systems.
- Provide engineering guidance and leadership to automation and commissioning teams.
- Partner with Delta
V/automation engineers to ensure process intent is accurately implemented within control systems. - Support integration of purification processes into automated manufacturing environments.
- Act as a technical SME for downstream purification process engineering.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with process, automation, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless execution.

- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related field.
- Experience in GMP pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
- Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
- Experience supporting automation integration and commissioning activities.
- Familiarity with large‑scale biologics or drug substance manufacturing operations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interface across engineering, automation, and operations teams.
This is a Contract position based out of Apex, NC.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00/hr.
