Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Prepare application formulations and apply on customer supplied substrates.
- Application of formulated coatings to be performed at lab or pilot scale by spray, gravure, dip/nip, pad bath or similar methods.
- Testing to customer requirements of finished parts for physical properties, color/aesthetics and flammability.
- Work with an interdisciplinary team locally, nationally and globally to support and promote development of Stahl chemistry and capabilities.
- Present and share findings with Technical Sales, Customer, internal R&D and Applications team.
- Organizes and records all pertinent testing information in the laboratory project files as references for future use, and maintains all documents, prints or items generated from projects.
- Maintains a clean, organized, and orderly work area and laboratory space assigned.
- This role is in support of customer trials at our Center of Excellence for N. American automotive customers, so customer interaction and a professional presentation is expected.

Education and/or ExperiencePosition is intended for an individual in active pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Textile Sciences, Chemical Engineering, Plastic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related sciences.
Hands on experience including formulation of specialty coatings, color matching, plant processing procedures, quality control test procedures or technical service are preferred.
Language SkillsEffective Communication Skills Are Required.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to do basic math and write legibly.
Computer SkillsBasic Computer Skills Are Required. SAP experience preferred. Knowledge of Microsoft office.

Lifting of up to 50 lbs on an intermittent basis. Some mechanical ability is preferred to adjust application equipment.
