Job Description:
This position is responsible for technical and skilled work in the operation, inspection, preventive maintenance, electrical troubleshooting and repair and replacement of machinery/parts and equipment in the water and sewer pumping stations throughout the Town. This position reports to the Pump Maintenance Supervisor. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Cleaning and inspection of lift stations.
- Pulling, repairing and replacing pumps.
- Troubleshooting electrical problems.
- Repairing electrical components.
- Performing maintenance on generators.
- Monitoring the Town’s SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system.
- Delivering chemicals and accepting deliveries of chemicals.
- Inspecting, repairing and replacing hydraulic systems and air release valves.
- Inspection repair replace air release valves.
- Document activities in computerized work order management system.
- Performs related tasks as required.
Position requires a High School Diploma or GED and one (1) year of experience.
Special Qualifications- Grade 1 Collections Certification from NC WPCSOCC within 12 months of hire
- Confined Space training certificate with 6 months of hire
- Possession of NC Class B CDL with Tanker endorsement
