Key Responsibilities

+ Perform field testing of construction materials including soil, concrete, and asphalt in accordance with industry standards and project requirements

+ Inspect materials on-site and accurately document results through detailed daily reports

+ Operate testing equipment and follow established procedures to ensure reliable data collection

+ Read and interpret construction plans and blueprints to support testing and inspection activities

+ Work in a physically active environment, including lifting, climbing, bending, and navigating uneven terrain

Required

Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in construction materials testing or related construction field

+ Ability to lift up to 80 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks

+ Basic understanding of construction drawings and site plans

+ Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally to job sites

+ Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality

Preferred Qualifications

+ NCDOT certifications

+ ACI Field Technician Level I

+ Nuclear Gauge User Certification

+ NICET Level I (Soils, Concrete, or Asphalt)

+ Previous field experience in construction or engineering

This is a field-based position located in Cary, NC, offering a mix of independence and team collaboration. Work hours may vary depending on project schedules, with opportunities for overtime including nights and weekends.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Apex, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
