Responsibilities
Perform all duties and performance requirements of a Customer Service Representative (CSR) as outlined in the CSR Job Description section of the Operations Policy and Procedures Manual.Assist the Manager with recruiting and training new CSR candidates and provide managerial and leadership duties.Operate point of sale equipment, credit/debit card, lottery, lotto, ATM, fuel dispensers and other equipment; handle paperwork transactions as necessary.Serve as an ambassador for SBOC/Han‑Dee Hugo’s, championing the Company’s values and mission statement.Address customer complaints professionally and in a timely manner.Promote teamwork within the store and maintain a positive customer experience tone both during and in the absence of the Store Manager.Assist the Manager with completing store paperwork, scheduling, cash and inventory controls.Merchandise and stock the store proficiently.Handle any assigned CSR tasks personally, including working all shifts.Report maintenance issues to the Manager.Maintain proper cash levels in the register, ATM and safe; assist with making bank deposits when required.Train CSR’s to provide great customer service.Maintain prescribed uniform with visible name tag and ensure all CSR’s comply.Perform all safety procedures, extinguishing fires, using emergency shut‑off, and maintaining a safe work environment.Work with vendors to ensure Vendor Control Policies are implemented and followed.Keep the store clean and ready for inspection, including restrooms.Ensure employees engage in upselling (suggestive selling) to optimize sales.Attend all training meetings scheduled by the Company.Prevent employees from discussing pricing or strategies with competitors or anyone outside the Company.Avoid telephone fuel surveys; complete fuel surveys by visiting competitor locations.Ensure no warrants or legal documents are signed or authorized without proper higher‑level approval; refer any subpoena or legal document to corporate offices.Proficiently order convenience store merchandise and fuel products.Prior to end of shift, verify surveillance cameras are operational.Ensure safety and security of employees during duty periods.Avoid working together with Store Managers to ensure proper management during morning and evening shifts.Uniform and Safety Compliance
Uniform: Must be in prescribed uniform with visible name tag at all times and ensure all CSR’s are in compliance.
Physical Demands
- Work flexible hours with “On Call” status.
- Operate equipment such as Safe, ATM machine, Point of Sale, and other convenience store equipment.
- Perform emergency procedures mentally and physically (e.g., extinguishing fires, using emergency shut‑off).
- May require long hours on all shifts including days, nights, holidays and weekends.
- Work alone for prolonged periods without breaks.
- Stand and walk for majority of each shift and for prolonged periods.
- Use hands, fingers, tools or controls, reach with arms, talk and hear.
- Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and move independently without significantly interfering with others in confined area.
- Regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Require eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity.
- Require ability to distinguish letters and symbols.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in a convenience store/gas station, car wash and restaurant environment. Employees frequently work in outside weather conditions and are exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, cold; may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and heat. Noise level is usually moderate.
Assistant Manager may work part time outside of Han‑Dee Hugo’s provided that the part‑time position is not with a competitor or in the convenience store industry. The Assistant Manager acknowledges that Han‑Dee Hugo’s scheduling and on‑call requirements of 24 hours per day seven days per week…
