Technician, Refrigeration​/HVAC

Position Summary

Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician for Walmart. Responsible for managing repair and maintenance of the Walmart facilities refrigeration HVAC equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and supporting store operations through effective work order management. Works with commercial HVAC and refrigeration skills, hand, digital, and power tools.

• Maintain and repair refrigeration HVAC equipment and assets using commercial HVAC and refrigeration expertise.
• Utilize work order management system to receive repair orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities.
• Inspect, operate, and test facility equipment and fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations following Walmart Refrigeration HVAC safety policy and environmental guidelines.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Lift up to 75 pounds, move up and down ladders, and work comfortably at heights frequently.

• 2 years of experience in commercial refrigeration HVAC maintenance.
• Type I/Type II or Universal EPA Certification for refrigerant handling.
• Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass an MVR report.
• 18 years or older with a high‑school diploma or equivalent.
• Large‑scale rack refrigeration experience.
• Preferred:
  Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical HVAC/R program; mechanical license in the city or state where the job is located.

• 4 years of mechanical maintenance or construction‑related experience in commercial HVAC/R and building controls (or related field).

• Hourly wage range $23.00–$45.00, plus possible premiums.
