We are continuing to grow, and are looking for a Team Lead, Software Engineering to join our team .

The Team Lead, Engineering position is a hybrid position requiring 2+ days per week in-office in our Woodbury, LI or Apex, NC office.

Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Engineering/Development, this role will provide technical leadership and product expertise to developers.

This position assists the development manager ensure that development best practices are followed by the development team. Another important part of this role would be to assist the Development Manager in designing, building, and leading the next version of the product.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Be the primary technical contact point for the team.
  • Oversee the code reviews, offer coaching and general technical guidance to the developers.
  • Be an advocate of development best practices including TDD and BDD.
  • Ability to learn and work with existing code base, make improvements where necessary and provide ongoing development and support on the existing version of the product.
  • Be comfortable in system design and able to assist in defining, design and build the next version of the product.
  • Write maintainable, clean, re‑usable, object‑oriented, and efficient programming code in compliance with the coding standards.
  • Be able to work on production and support issues, and work with different teams to resolve escalation issues from the field. Identify and advise improvements to the existing product to reduce escalation issues.
  • Learn and understand the technical details of all relevant products and having hands‑on familiarity of the system as required.
  • Contribute fresh, new ideas during developer meetings demonstrating a commitment on‑going learning.
  • Utilizing code coverage, code metrics, and other tools to improve quality of code.
  • Mentor and assist in the training and on‑boarding of other team members
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 8 years of hands‑on software development experience, with at least 3 years leading a team of engineers.
  • Experience with all or most of the technologies listed in the tech stack section above, with the ability to quickly learn and research new trends and technologies as they appear.
  • Hands on experience with Microservices and Docker is required.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment is an asset.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working with JIRA.
  • Experience working with No

    SQL (Cassandra, Mongo

    DB, etc.) or any Cloud offerings (Azure, AWS, etc.).
