Purchasing Associate (Data Entry)
The Purchasing Associate is a purchasing professional that acts as the intermediary between sales, purchasing and suppliers in the form of product delivered on time or providing the best solutions to meet the needs of the sales team and customers.
Essential Functions
- Provide excellent customer service to the sales team by acting as the intermediary between sales, purchasing, and our suppliers
- Manage purchase order confirmations and monitor open orders to ensure accuracy, timely processing, and proactive follow-up on delayed shipments.
- Support expediting efforts by working with vendors to improve on-time delivery and resolve supply chain issues.
- Process and track vendor authorizations, MRA, and NCMR activities to ensure timely resolution of material and quality concerns.
- Reduce purchasing backlog by prioritizing outstanding transactions and maintaining efficient order flow.
- Coordinate communication between vendors, Purchasing, Warehouse, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure alignment.
- Respond to internal and external inquiries while maintaining accurate purchasing records and supporting continuous process improvements.
- All other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Basic/intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Telephone etiquette
- Organizational and time management skills
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient typing skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet established expectations
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience in customer service and/or administrative or purchasing support preferred
