Position: PART-TIME FACULTY, FIRE TECHNOLOGY

This is a continuous recruitment for an applicant pool to fill part‑time faculty (up to 67 %) or temporary substitute assignments on an as‑needed basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of professional experience, OR associate degree and six (6) years of professional experience, OR the equivalent. Must also have the recommended years of professional experience from the SFT Procedures Manual.
  • Associate’s degree from an accredited institution and one (1) or more of the following certifications:
  • Certified SFT Fire and Emergency Services Instructor 1
  • Certified SFT Instructor I
  • Certified SFT Training Instructor 1
  • Certified SFT Fire Instructor 1
  • SFT Historically Recognized Fire Fighter 1 & 2 Academy Instructor Ethical Leadership in the Classroom or Ethical Leadership for Instructors
  • Fire‑Fighter Instructors who were instructing on or before December 31 2018 with SFT Fire Instructor 1A and 1B or ST Training Instructor 1A and 1B.

EXPERIENCE
  • Applicant must have held the rank of Fire Fighter performing suppression duties within a recognized fire agency in California for a minimum of three (3) years.
CANDIDATE QUALIFICATION OPTIONS
  • Option 1:
    Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years of experience plus certification.
  • Option 2:
    Associate’s degree and six (6) years of experience plus certification.

Must have sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

A copy of the evaluation must be attached to each application package. A fee may apply.
