CNC Machinist

A CNC Machinist I operates and maintains CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machines to produce precision parts. Responsibilities include setting up machines, loading raw materials, monitoring the machining process, and ensuring that finished products meet specified quality standards. The role requires basic knowledge of machining processes, the ability to read and interpret blueprints, and an understanding of measurement tools. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety are essential.

• Setting up fixture components for jobs that require CNC machining.
• Understanding and have functional use of CNC code and CNC programming.
• Setting Machine original in accordance with the set-up instruction
• Working to machine dimension and maintain close tolerances and correlated dimensions with a high demand for squareness, concentricity, finish, and parallelism.
• Setting and loading all tools in conjunction with set-up instructions to complete assigned jobs.
• Maintains a clean, and organized workspace.
• Adheres to all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Manages time appropriately to maintain a productive work shift.
• Clearly communicates work status, problems, and support needed in order to support a collaborative work environment.
• The ability to lift various items weighing up to approximately forty pounds.

• The ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Knowledge of machining methods, and the cutting qualities of plastics and tools
• The ability to read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings.
• The ability to participate in, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain security clearance, which requires citizenship.
• The ability to operate various cranes, material handling equipment and various types of machining equipment etc.
• The ability to safely operate a table saw, band saw, grinder, and other rotational equipment.
• The ability to collaborate with other machinists, and team members.
