Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) – Emergency
Location:
Providence St. Mary Medical Center, Apple Valley, CA. This is a full‑time position with 10‑hour shifts, typically 2 pm–12 am with rotating weekends. Flexibility on shift hours is required based on department needs.
Our Emergency Department is a fast‑paced environment, experiencing an average of 240 patients per day. It is Level 4 Trauma Certified and serves patients requiring stroke and STEMI care.
Responsibilities- Support the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services during assigned shift.
- Provide managerial presence for all shifts.
- Manage clinical and non‑clinical caregivers and contribute to performance evaluation.
- Utilize the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within the shift.
- Bachelor's Degree graduate from a nursing school (BS or BSN). Registered nurses employed in this role prior to November 1, 2024 are encouraged to pursue the BSN degree, but obtaining the degree will not be a condition of employment.
- California registered nurse license upon hire.
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
- Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
- Charge nurse/relief charge nurse experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Shared governance experience.

Pay Range: $68.94 – $108.84 per hour, base pay only; additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
