American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract at an acute care hospital in Apple Valley, CA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and an active CA RN license.
Requirements- Active CA RN license, in hand at time of consideration (pending licenses not accepted)
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of OR RN experience required (3 years preferred)
- Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in general OR procedures required, including general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, vascular, and endoscopic cases
- Preferred experience includes robotic surgery (Da Vinci Xi), neurology/spine cases, thoracic, ENT, ophthalmology, plastics, and ambulatory OR settings
- Preferred skills include ambulatory OR, trauma, and pediatric general surgery
- A valid LA fire card obtained within the last 30 days is required
- 2 supervisory references covering at least 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty are required
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Work setting is a 212-bed acute care hospital in an Operating Room (OR) department
- 12-hour variable shifts with Sunday–Saturday coverage; shift start times include 0630, 0930, and 1030
- On-call is required, estimated at 70–90 hours per 6-week period, with on-call windows extending into overnight hours and weekends
- Weekend and holiday on-call coverage is required
- Charting is performed in Epic
- Scrubs are provided for OR staff
- Free parking is available on-site
- Local candidates are accepted; candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local
- Travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in termination of assignment
- Candidates who have previously worked at a Providence facility (as a permanent employee, traveler, or registry/per-diem) must disclose the location and dates of that employment
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Holiday coverage is required; candidates must commit to working 3 of the following 5 holidays:
Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year s Eve, and New Year s Day - RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration; minimal RTO is strongly preferred
- Navy blue scrubs are required for RNs; OR-specific scrubs are provided by the facility
