POSITION PURPOSE

Coordinates and supports the technical activities of the Capital Improvement Program during the design, preconstruction, construction, and closeout of Bond Projects. Assists in the creation, dissemination, and verification of information related to Capital Improvement Program projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Project Management

Works collaboratively as a resource for the Capital Improvement Program and to serve as an additional liaison between architects, engineers, consultants, and internal departments for construction projects.

Maintains District Technical Guidelines (TDGs) to accurately reflect the latest specifications.

Supports the overtime process for Bond projects.

Supports the design and construction standards dissemination, construction schedules, and the coordination of construction related documentation for multiple projects, including submittal review, RFI processing, meeting agendas, meeting minutes, pay applications, reporting, closeout and warranty documentation.

Provides performance and objective reports on project progress.

Attends project development and construction meetings and assists with communication and documentation of meeting content.

Verifies compliance of final close-out procedures for the general contractors, engineers, and job order contractors (i.e., new schools, additions, renovations, demolitions, and hazmat).

SAFETY

Performs preventive maintenance on tools and equipment and ensures equipment is in safe operating condition.

Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting and climbing; operates tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.

Corrects unsafe conditions in work area and promptly reports any conditions that are not immediately correctable to supervisor.

Skill in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.

Skill in complex problem solving; identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

Skill at the advanced level, working with Microsoft Office 365, especially Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

Ability to read, interpret and apply construction plans, specifications, applicable building codes and regulations, and to recognize deviations from such requirements.

Ability to maintain accurate construction records and to prepare complete and concise reports.
