Creative Product Designer (Craft, DIY & Consumer Products) (JN - Minneapolis, Minnesota
Salary: USD
60000 - USD
70000 per year
Remote (Minnesota Residents Only)
We're partnering with a growing consumer products company in the craft, hobby, and DIY industry seeking a Creative Product Designer to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong illustration skills with product development experience and enjoys bringing retail products from concept to production.
What You'll Do- Develop creative product concepts for craft, DIY, and consumer product lines
- Create illustrations, artwork, digital renderings, and production-ready files
- Transform trend insights and mood boards into market-ready designs
- Prototype, test, and refine product concepts
- Research trends, competitors, and emerging opportunities within the craft and hobby market
- Collaborate closely with the Creative Director while managing projects independently
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Illustration, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in product development, craft products, surface design, or consumer products
- Strong illustration skills with the ability to work across multiple artistic styles
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator
- Experience taking products from concept through manufacturing
- Self-motivated professional who thrives in an independent, remote environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to receive constructive feedback
- Must currently reside in Minnesota
- Experience in the craft, hobby, DIY, stationery, gift, or paper goods industries
- Experience translating trends and mood boards into successful products
- Understanding of retail product development and manufacturing processes
- Experience supporting products sold through major retailers
- Monday-Friday
- 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (flexible)
