RAVE Clerical Association, Wage Group V – agreed to contract. (Based on the 2025‑26 contract)
- Step 1 – $21.32/hour
- Step 2 – $22.62/hour
- Step 3 – $23.91/hour
- Paraprofessional classification receives an additional $1.00 per hour differential.
On‑duty benefits are available to new employees effective the first day of active employment. Benefits include medical insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, long‑term disability insurance, sick‑leave, state pension plan, tax‑deferred retirement savings account, and flexible spending account. Some employee groups may receive additional vacation, holidays or personal leave.
Responsibilities- Assist in communication with staff, parents, and students.
- Assist teacher or nurse in collecting and maintaining data.
- Implement intervention strategies developed by licensed staff.
- Implement behavior intervention plans.
- Implement health plans.
- Assist with crisis interventions and discipline.
- Apply effective sensory activities.
- Instruct individual students following programs designed by lead teacher.
- Assist with independent study.
- Reinforce lessons with small groups of students.
- Work outdoors with students and staff in a variety of weather conditions.
- High school diploma AND two years of college OR associate’s degree OR Minnesota passing score on the Para educator test.
- Effective behavior management and health‑support skills to maintain routine in a student’s day.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills for interactions with staff, students, and parents.
- Experience working in a center‑based and inclusion setting.
- Ability to perform essential job functions, which may include toileting, catheter care, lifting, medication administration, gastric tube feedings, health tasks, pool support, DAPE, and outdoor work.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially, and socioeconomically diverse school community.
