- Assess student needs and construct strategies that aid students with accomplishing academic success, while preserving continuous communication with parents.
- Implement appropriate strategies for academic intervention.
- Work collaboratively with staff to offer insight in the development of academic goals & objectives for students.
- Collaborate with student support team (teachers, counselors, administration) to design individualized/accommodated programming for success.
- Attend Learning Team meetings when necessary for student success.
- Engage students with suitable classroom management techniques.
- Keeping records of lesson plans, and records of student's performance.
- Facilitate and support learning aligned to the curriculum of Independent School District 196.
- Carry out responsibilities as defined by the master contract.
- Carry out responsibilities as defined by the principal.
- Maintain good communication and cooperation with staff and parents.
Job Description
- Provide educational interventions and progress monitoring for students who need additional support.
- Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student difficulties.
- Implement the MTSS model of increasingly intense student interventions and monitor student progress according to prescribed procedures.
- Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during interventions.
- Licensed by the state of Minnesota to teach middle school.
- Strong general academic background.
- Ability to relate positively to students, staff, and community.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency working with a culturally, ethnically, racially and socioeconomically diverse school community is preferred.
