Seeking an enthusiastic and student-centered Secondary Math Teacher to inspire students in grades 6–12 through engaging, standards-based mathematics instruction. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students build mathematical confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills while supporting the school's mission of developing the mental, physical, and emotional well-being of every student.

This educator will foster a rigorous, inclusive learning environment where students are challenged academically, encouraged to collaborate, and prepared for future success in college, careers, and life.

What You'll Do
  • Plan and deliver engaging mathematics instruction aligned with Minnesota Academic Standards.
  • Teach secondary mathematics courses appropriate to student needs, including subjects such as Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Statistics, or other middle and high school math courses.
  • Develop lesson plans that promote conceptual understanding, mathematical reasoning, and real-world problem solving.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic needs of all learners.
  • Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Foster a positive classroom culture that promotes student engagement, collaboration, and academic growth.
  • Incorporate technology and innovative instructional strategies to enhance mathematics learning.
  • Support students in developing strong study habits, perseverance, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to analyze student data, improve instruction, and strengthen curriculum alignment.
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, attendance, and progress reports.
  • Communicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff regarding academic progress and student success.
  • Participate in professional learning communities, staff meetings, school events, and ongoing professional development.
  • Support FIT Academy's commitment to integrating fitness, character development, and teamwork into the educational experience.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.
  • Valid Minnesota teaching license (or eligibility for licensure) in Secondary Mathematics.
  • Strong knowledge of secondary mathematics curriculum and instructional best practices.
  • Ability to teach multiple secondary mathematics courses.
  • Experience differentiating instruction for diverse learners.
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented school community.
