Role Overview
This role is equivalent in function and acuity to a Psychiatric Technician or Mental Health Technician in a hospital or residential treatment setting.
Psychiatric Technicians at Bright Path provide direct behavioral health support, crisis intervention, and clinical documentation for individuals with complex behavioral and mental health needs in 24/7 staffed residential programs.
This position aligns with Bright Path’s Behavioral Technician role and is ideal for candidates with experience in:
- Inpatient psychiatry
- Residential treatment
- Crisis stabilization
- ABA-informed or behavior support settings
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct behavioral health support in accordance with individualized service plans and crisis plans
- Observe, assess, and respond to behavioral escalation, utilizing de-escalation and positive support strategies
- Participate in crisis response, including emergency safety interventions when required and trained
- Accurately complete clinical documentation, including daily progress notes, behavior tracking, and incident reports
- Support individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs) as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with supervisors and interdisciplinary partners to support safety, consistency, and treatment goals
- Maintain compliance with Minnesota DHS 245D standards, mandated reporting requirements, and agency policies
Qualifications
Required (one of the following):
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Social Work, or related field
- OR
- 4+ years of experience in a psychiatric, residential, crisis, or behavioral health setting
Preferred:
- Experience as a Psychiatric Technician, Mental Health Technician, Behavior Technician, or ABA Therapist
- Experience supporting individuals with SPMI, IDD, or high-acuity behavioral needs
- Familiarity with de-escalation, trauma-informed care, or positive behavior supports

Schedule & Physical Requirements
- Programs operate 24/7; flexible scheduling available
- Standing, walking, lifting up to 40 lbs as required by individual support needs
