Location: Southern California
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour (18:00 - 06:30). Weekend rotation required, every other weekend or potentially more to accommodate unit needs. Guaranteed hours with facility allowed to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.
Highlights:- Level III NICU with approximately 190 births per month in a 212-bed acute care hospital
- 14-bed unit serving a large Hispanic community with CCS designation
- Epic charting system with free parking available
- Float opportunities to Mother/Baby unit for neonatal couplet care
- Patient ratios staffed by acuity, typically 1:2-3
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and social services
- Valid California RN license required prior to start
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in Level III NICU (required, hard stop)
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current certifications: BLS, NRP Advanced, PALS (or NRP with willingness to obtain Advanced prior to start)
- Epic charting system experience and community hospital experience required
- LA fire card obtained within the last 30 days required
- Proficiency in administration of blood products, attendance at high-risk deliveries, and conscious sedation
- Experience with central lines, arterial line management, high-frequency ventilation, PICC line management, and IV vasopressors
- Ability to manage complex neonatal conditions including prematurity, RDS, NAS, sepsis, hypoglycemia, and jaundice
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
