Cost Accounting Manager

Our client is an organization in the Dodge County area looking for a Cost Accounting Manager
. Our client is looking for someone with 3+ years of experience, manufacturing industry experience and highly organized with strong analytic skills.

The Cost Accounting Manager will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Lead and manage all aspects of cost accounting, including standard costing, inventory valuation, cost analysis, and variance reporting.
• Maintain and improve the accuracy of product costing, bills of materials (BOMs), labor routings, and overhead allocations.
• Analyze manufacturing variances including labor, material, overhead, scrap, and production efficiencies, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities related to inventory and cost accounting.
• Ensure accurate inventory accounting, reconciliations, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
• Partner with operations and production teams to understand manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvements.
• Develop and maintain standard cost systems and assist in annual standard cost updates.
• Prepare financial reports, margin analyses, and KPIs to support business planning and operational performance.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Assist with external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and company policies.
• Evaluate and enhance accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with procurement, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams on new products, pricing, and operational initiatives.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members as applicable.
• Ad hoc projects as needed.

The Cost Accounting Manager will possess the following:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field required.
• 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Manufacturing industry experience required.
• Strong analytic skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
