Robert Half is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Waukesha County, Wisconsin. This role primarily involves maintaining fiscal files and records, participating in the daily operations of the Accounting Department, and assisting in the creation of financial reports.

Responsibilities of the role include:

• Participating in daily operations of the Accounting Department
• Processing payroll and overseeing the following general ledger entry
• Assisting in month and year-end processes
• Managing accounts payable and receivable
• Performing revenue and expenditure variance analysis
• Carrying out bank account statement reconciliations
• Monitoring and analyzing accounting data
• Assisting in production of financial reports
• Applying correct accounting methods, policies, and principles
• Ensuring that fiscal files and records are properly established and maintained
• Utilizing software expertise in ERP system.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close, and the use of business software.

They should also have experience with Month-end Close Activities, Month-end Journal Entries, and Monthly Account Reconciliation. Commercial insurance knowledge and experience will be a plus.

• Prior experience as a Staff Accountant for at least three years

• Proficiency with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations

• Familiarity with General Ledger management

• Ability to create and manage Journal Entries

• Experience with Month-end Close Activities and Month-end Journal Entries

• Ability to perform Monthly Account Reconciliation

• Knowledge of Commercial Insurance

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
