Senior Cost Accountant Position Located in Walworth County
We are working a newly created Senior Cost Accountant position for a growing, national manufacturing company. This position will have a direct line to the CFO and really get to make the position their own. There is also a quick roadmap to Controller here!
Responsibilities- Prepare monthly account reconciliations, prepare financial reports, and report out on findings.
- Assist with the financial close process, which includes account analysis, preparing journal entries, updating various files and related financial reporting.
- Be involved with the year-end financial audit to prepare information and work with the auditors.
- Analyze departmental cost calculations and methods and provide recommendations to improve.
- Analyze department and part-level costing for significant or unusual areas and work with appropriate areas to correct / improve.
- Establish various costing rates based on actual costs.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2+ years of cost accounting experience REQUIRED
- Problem-solving/process improvement mindset
- Attention to detail and organization skills
