Role Overview
The Director of Customer Planning & Service leads an integrated Supply Chain organization dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, optimizing inventory and driving critical business initiatives. This role provides strategic oversight of functions that may include Supply Planning, Demand Planning, Supply Chain Analysis, and Customer Service.
As a key member of the Business Unit Leadership Team, the Director is responsible for shaping and executing strategies that align supply chain capabilities with business objectives. This includes developing processes that balance demand with plant capacity, ensure optimal inventory replenishment, and achieve service excellence across all customer touchpoints.
The position champions a culture of engagement, high performance, quality, and continuous improvement, fostering collaboration across teams and functions. The Director will also play a pivotal role in long‑term planning and strategic decision‑making, ensuring the supply chain remains agile, resilient, and aligned with organizational growth goals.
Your Role Is Unpacking Possibilities- Geographic Scope:
National - Number of colleagues directly reporting to this job: 4–6
- Lead strategic planning and execution of AFNA, Supply Chain, & Business Unit priorities and objectives
- Create and lead a unified culture via a shared vision & strategies that deliver positive end‑to‑end experiences for plants and customers
- Ensure inventory and service targets are met by proactively supporting production planning processes and optimizing inventory
- Prepare content and lead business sessions and presentations with stakeholders demonstrating strong business acumen and executive presence
- Provide strategic insight by identifying and implementing processes that improve lead‑times, cost and service by continuously monitoring and analyzing the flow of goods through Amcor complex system of inventories and production asset base
- Work closely with CP&S peers, sales, plants, IT, and marketing to drive continuous improvement and create solutions that enable service excellence to our customers
- Build organizational capability through recruitment, development, and retention of top talent. Key activities include robust performance reviews, clear annual objectives, talent reviews, and succession plans
- Serve as a strong partner with Operations
- Act as a strategic partner to Operations, suggesting scheduling priorities and service trade‑offs to optimize performance
- Ability to communicate effectively and positively influence directly and indirectly

- Strong leadership within a dynamic Supply Chain team
- Critical thinking that enables innovative solutions/continuous improvement and learning

- Effective knowledge of products, systems, and manufacturing processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- MBA preferred
- 10+ years’ experience in operations, customer service, planning, or related leadership roles
- Preferred APICS – CPIM certification
- A sound grasp of Supply Chain information technology and related planning processes/systems
