Overview
The AHS Carrier Business Development Senior Consultant II is responsible for recruiting, developing, and managing relationships with independent agents and agencies to drive business growth through carrier partnerships. The role provides consultative guidance and subject‑matter expertise on complex agent‑related matters, including commission structures, licensing, product strategy, and operational processes. It requires independent judgment in evaluating agent performance, adapting commission frameworks, and aligning agency relationships with business objectives while informing strategic decisions.
Responsibilities- Recruit, evaluate, and onboard independent agents and agencies, assessing alignment with business strategy and growth objectives.
- Interpret and apply commission frameworks, exercising discretion to adjust commission structures and production expectations based on agent negotiations, portfolio mix, and market conditions.
- Evaluate agent performance and determine ongoing participation, including disengagement decisions when misaligned with strategic or operational criteria.
- Apply and adapt policies, including appropriate deviation from standard procedures based on business impact.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on products, regulatory requirements, and internal systems; provide consultative guidance to agents and internal stakeholders.
- Provide expert consultation and market insights to leadership to inform strategy and operational decision‑making.
- Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex agent issues related to commissions, licensing, applications, and system processes.
- Represent the organization in handling agent complaints, appeals, and disputes, ensuring appropriate resolution and alignment with company objectives.
- Identify trends in agent activity and partner with cross‑functional teams, including IT, to address root causes and improve processes and systems.
- Contribute to business planning and strategic initiatives that impact agent performance, operational effectiveness, and revenue growth.
- Preferred: 4‑year Bachelor’s degree.
- Preferred: 3 or more years of experience in business development, sales, or related field.
- Knowledge of commission structures, licensing, and product strategy.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
- Must be willing to undergo a background investigation.
$61,860.00 – $85,050.00 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
