Seasonal - Engineering Aide

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Uses range pole or level rod to establish vertical and horizontal control.
• Sets grade stakes for construction projects.
• Inspects various construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.
• Reads, interprets and understands construction plans and specifications.
• Maintains effective communication with the contractor, public and other employees.
• Performs basic engineering calculations and functions.
• Operates a motor vehicle.
• Maintains accurate notes and records.

• Performs miscellaneous inspection related tasks.
• Performs maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Performs miscellaneous survey related tasks.
• Operates a City vehicle.

• Ability to traverse construction sites to perform inspection duties.
• Ability to perform basic engineering calculations and functions.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to perform manual labor under varying weather conditions.
• Ability to deal with the public in a courteous manner.
• Must be able to provide own steel toed shoes.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Must be at least eighteen years of age.

Hours per day: 8
Specific hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Days per week: 5
Hours per week: 40+
