Walbec produces high‑quality construction materials and delivers professional design, engineering and construction services across six companies:
Payne and Dolan, Northeast Asphalt, Zenith Tech, Parisi, Premier Concrete, and Construction Resources Management. We work on commercial and industrial sites throughout the Midwest, building bridges, stabilizing shorelines, rehabilitating structures, and providing site engineering and construction solutions for solar projects.

Position

We're looking for Experienced Asphalt Paving Operators to operate various types of asphalt paving equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Positions are seasonal and will follow the upcoming spring work schedules.

Responsibilities
  • Operate equipment and machinery to place hot‑mix asphalt at construction sites.
  • Work with one or several types of power construction equipment in a safe and effective manner to minimize risk of injury and property damage.
  • Read and understand grade stakes, automated machine control cab displays, and specific plan grades.
  • Safely maneuver machinery in tight quarters, around people, traffic, and utilities.
  • Clean, maintain, and secure all equipment.
  • Ensure proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
  • Assist with repairs as needed.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record.
  • CDL desired but not required.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to work varied hours including nights, early mornings, and weekends.
  • Ability to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and in dirty and dusty environments.
  • Member of the appropriate trade union or willingness to become a union member required; union membership may not be required prior to employment and HR can assist.
