Job DescriptionAs a Project Manager at Lunda Construction, you will work on Railroad, Bridge, and Heavy Civil infrastructure project sites throughout the Upper Midwest, and will be involved in all areas of project management, including project planning of cost, time, field staffing, equipment, safety, and contract administration.
Responsibilities- Lead role in project planning, budgeting, and managing resources.
- Perform project accounting functions including cost tracking, cost projections, and minimizing financial risk.
- Ensure construction operations progress according to schedule and communicate schedule changes to appropriate parties.
- Develop project work plans, convey plans to field staff, monitor implementation and adjust when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with owners, crews, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate all parties involved with the projects, including the owner, architect, consultants, contractors, and sub‑contractors.
- Monitor and report the progress of construction activities and hold progress meetings with clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure construction operations are completed in accordance with fiscal control, quality, and safety standards.
- Conduct regular visits to active project sites.
- Maintain project document controls.
- Participate in site safety audits and actively develop site‑specific safety plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to travel throughout the Upper Midwest is required.
- Five or more years of relevant project management experience in the Heavy Civil Field preferred.
- Railroad & bridge construction experience, including working directly with Railroad Company representatives preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Effective time‑management skills and logical decision‑making ability.
- Ability to read and understand contract plans and specifications.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team.
- Excellent written and oral communication necessary.
- Ability to collaborate with personnel at all levels, both internal and external customers.
