Operations Manager, Building & Residential Construction
Ledcor Technical Services has been building and servicing communication networks for customers across North America since 1979.
We act as a key partner for our clients by delivering exceptional quality, reliability, and safety in all that we do. We are seeking experienced and dedicated Senior Superintendents to join our team for large‑haul fiber installation projects.
Responsibilities- Oversee day‑to‑day field operations, develop project plans, and monitor performance.
- Lead the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversee incident investigations.
- Review and update construction schedules, address delays, and contribute to project schedules.
- Estimate activity durations and materials for complex projects.
- Track financial aspects of the project and maintain reporting.
- Participate in subcontractor, supplier selection, procurement and negotiations.
- Set priorities and allocate resources for the entire field team.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project staff and other Superintendents.
- 8+ years of experience as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent.
- Knowledge of underground fiber installation using boring and plow equipment.
- Post‑secondary education in Construction, Engineering or a related discipline is an asset.
- Effective communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub‑contractors.
- Problem‑solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues.
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications and current construction practices.
- Strong organizational and planning skills.
The position requires meeting physical requirements such as sitting, standing, bending, climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), working at heights and operating in all types of weather conditions. It is a site‑based position that will involve travel to various Ledcor offices and project sites.
