The PBX Operator serves as the central communication hub for the resort, managing all incoming and outgoing calls with professionalism, efficiency, and warmth. The role ensures guests, team members, and external callers receive prompt and accurate assistance. Duties include directing calls, relaying messages, handling emergency communications, and providing information in accordance with service standards.

What You'll Do
  • Answer and direct all internal and external phone calls promptly, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Greet callers with professionalism and assist with inquiries or transfer calls to the appropriate departments or extensions.
  • Handle guest requests for wake‑up calls, messages, and information about resort services.
  • Log and relay accurate messages for guests and team members in a timely manner.
  • Operate resort communication systems, including paging, voicemail, and radio dispatch as needed.
  • Monitor emergency lines and assist in implementing communication procedures during critical situations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of resort facilities, staff, and operations to provide accurate information to callers.
  • Support Front Office, Security, and Engineering with emergencies or urgent communications.
  • Update and maintain internal directories, extension lists and contact sheets.
  • Ensure confidentiality of guest information and internal communications.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or service interruptions to appropriate technical support.
  • Uphold the resort’s service philosophy, ensuring every interaction reflects courtesy, accuracy, and discretion.
Who You Are
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in hospitality, customer service, or switchboard operations preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication and telephone etiquette.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle multiple phone lines and prioritize under pressure.
  • Working knowledge of telephone systems, PBX consoles, and basic office technology.
  • Professional appearance, calm demeanor, and commitment to guest service.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.
Compensation

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications, and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
