Position Overview

Outpatient medical director opportunity within a mission-driven federally qualified health center. Leadership-focused role overseeing clinical operations, provider onboarding, and quality initiatives. Flexible structure allowing combination of leadership responsibilities and ongoing clinical practice. Opportunity to shape care delivery while serving underserved patient populations. Collaborative executive partnership role reporting directly to the chief medical officer.

Schedule

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary: $250,000 – $280,000+ depending on experience. Productivity bonus structure: $87 per encounter paid annually. Student loan repayment eligibility up to $75,000 combined. 70% employer-paid health insurance plus 75% of out-of-pocket expenses covered. Dental and vision insurance. 403(b) and IRA retirement plans with 4% employer match. $100,000 employer-paid life insurance. Employer-paid short-term and long-term disability. FTCA malpractice coverage. Relocation assistance available.

3 weeks PTO plus 7 paid holidays. AFLAC and pet insurance options available.

Role Responsibilities

Lead and support multidisciplinary outpatient primary care team. Supervise 3 nurse practitioners and collaborate with physician team members. Oversee provider onboarding, clinical quality initiatives, and evidence-based care standards. Participate in strategic planning and executive leadership meetings. Maintain clinical practice responsibilities alongside administrative leadership duties. Support compliance initiatives and operational performance improvement. Participate in MAT-focused initiatives or obtain MAT certification if needed.

Requirements

MD or DO required. Active Wisconsin medical license required or ability to obtain. Board certified or board eligible required. Must become board certified within 1 year if board eligible. Minimum 3 years clinical experience required. DEA license required or ability to obtain. Comfortable supervising nurse practitioners required. Leadership experience preferred but not required. Commitment to underserved community health required. Willingness to participate in MAT-focused care initiatives required.
