The Training Content Developer is responsible for creating, organizing, and maintaining engaging, high‑quality learning materials that support technical and non‑technical training programs. This role transforms subject matter expertise into clear, accessible, and interactive content aligned with adult learning principles and organizational objectives. Working closely with subject matter experts (SMEs), Product managers, Engineering team, Aftermarket team and the training manager, the Training Content Developer ensures all materials are accurate, visually appealing, and adaptable for multiple delivery formats, including classroom, virtual, learning libraries and eLearning environments.
Proficiency in eLearning development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is required, along with experience creating blended learning materials, including instructor‑led training guides, participant workbooks, job aids, and multimedia assets. Familiarity with technical writing, graphic design principles, and adult learning theory is essential. Additionally, experience with writing scripts, knowledge‑based articles, planning training videos, creating storyboards, and developing a microlearning library are desired.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, edit, and maintain training content, including video scripts, storyboards, presentations, eLearning modules, training videos, simulations, and performance support tools.
- Collaborate with SMEs, Product managers, Engineering Teams, Aftermarket teams to gather technical information and convert it into engaging, learner‑friendly content.
- Ensure training materials meet brand, accessibility, and quality standards.
- Adapt content for multiple delivery methods, including classroom, virtual, learning library and self‑paced learning.
- Incorporate interactivity, scenarios, and assessments to improve learner engagement and knowledge retention.
- Conduct periodic reviews to ensure content accuracy, relevance, and alignment with product updates or organizational changes.
- Support the integration of multimedia, graphics, AR/VR training options and animations to enhance instructional impact.
- Maintain version control and content organization within LMS or content management systems.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Technical Communication, or related field. - Experience:
3–5 years of experience in training content development, instructional design, or related role.
Up to 10%.
Work ScheduleThis position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday‑Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.
Work LocationThis position is located in Appleton, WI and offers a hybrid work schedule.
