Job Summary
Adjunct Instructors will facilitate student learning and develop instructional strategies that promote student success in Anatomy & Physiology courses such as General & Advanced A&P, Human Biology, and Basic Anatomy at Fox Valley Technical College.
Core Responsibilities- Foster student learning by developing instructional strategies to meet diverse needs and support engagement.
- Create learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and technologies (hybrid, in-person, virtual).
- Assess student learning and provide regular feedback; use data to measure outcomes and design improvement strategies.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade records; uphold a safe and secure instructional environment.
- Engage with division, department, and team members; stay current with internal and external initiatives.
- Build relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners; promote the college and its programs.
- Advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services to retain students, close achievement gaps, and promote success.
- Pursue professional development to incorporate emerging trends and technologies.
- Maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and required licensure for accreditation.
All candidates must meet FVTC requirements for tenure. Must hold:
- A Master’s degree in the discipline or subfield taught, or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate credits in the discipline, or a Master’s degree with appropriate licensure.
- Proficiency with learning management systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing demands and assignments.
- Capacity to engage in continuous improvement of instruction and embrace innovative methodologies.
Background check (criminal record) will be conducted; satisfactory results considered necessary for suitability.
Must meet Higher Learning Commission requirements, Faculty Quality Assurance Standards, and other licensing standards.
Physical &Work Environment Requirements
- Mobility and ability to move around classroom.
- Stand for extended periods during lectures and sit for grading, office hours.
- Lift/Carry teaching materials; no specific weight limit stated.
- Clear speech and hearing for instruction.
- Fine motor skills for tasks like writing on whiteboard and using technology.
- Visual acuity for reading materials and operating equipment.
- Safety protocols compliance.
- May require travel for off-site teaching or professional development.
- Can work in classroom, hybrid, or virtual environments.
Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
