Job Summary
Dual Credit Instructors facilitate student learning and develop instructional strategies that promote student success, teaching college courses at high schools.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Foster student learning with instructional strategies tailored to diverse needs.
- Use multiple delivery methodologies and technologies (hybrid, in-person, virtual, online).
- Assess student learning, provide feedback, and use data to improve outcomes.
- Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, ensuring a safe and orderly classroom.
- Participate in team activities, collaborate with department & K12 Partnerships, and stay current with program changes.
- Advocate for students, working with Student Services to retain students and close achievement gaps.
- Engage in professional development, staying current with emerging trends, and maintain DPI licensure.
- Active K‑12 teacher employed in the agreed‑upon district.
- Associate degree or higher diploma/licensure level matching the dual‑credit course.
- Master’s degree or higher in Mathematics or a related discipline plus required graduate credits or a DPI license.
- Minimum 2 years full‑time (or 4,000 hours part‑time) occupational experience in the target job; recent experience within 5 years required.
- For occupational instructors, at least 2 years post‑secondary teaching experience may waive the one‑year requirement.
- Current DPI license.
- Proficiency with learning management systems and digital instruction.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adjust instruction to meet diverse student needs.
- Current DPI license for all high‑school teachers.
- Additional certifications as applicable.
- Proficiency in learning management systems.
- Strong communication and adaptability.
- Commitment to innovative instructional methods.
- Mobility, standing, and sitting per classroom demands.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Clear speech and hearing essential.
- Fine motor skills for writing/demonstration.
- Adequate visual acuity and ability to use instructional equipment.
- Managing repetitive tasks such as typing.
- Maintaining a safe learning environment.
Instruction primarily takes place in a classroom and online via a learning management system during daytime hours, with possible changes based on college needs.
