Job Description SummaryInstructors facilitate student learning, develop curriculum, and employ instructional strategies that promote student success.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities- Learning Facilitation – Foster student learning by developing instructional strategies for diverse needs and supporting engagement. Create learning experiences integrating technology and multiple delivery methods including hybrid, in‑person, virtual, and online.
- Assessment – Assess student learning, provide regular feedback, use data to measure outcomes such as persistence, retention, completion rate, and course success, and design improvement strategies based on evidence.
- Curriculum Development – Develop and continually revise competency‑based curricula and instructional materials that align with employer expectations and college policy, ensuring graduates are prepared for their career fields.
- Classroom Management – Maintain accurate attendance and grade records, ensure a safe and organized instructional environment, and provide necessary course materials to students.
- Team Participation – Engage in division, department, and team activities, meetings, planning, development, budgeting, and stay current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
- Business & Community Engagement – Build relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners, participate in advisory committees, external meetings, business visits, and recruitment activities to promote the college.
- Student Success & Support – Advocate for students, collaborate with Student Services to retain students, close achievement gaps, and advise on schedules, careers, internships, and program information.
- Professional Development – Continuously improve knowledge through professional development, networking with industry leaders, and integrating new techniques and technology. Meet Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and retain necessary licensure.
- Degree level appropriate for teaching and additional experience beyond requirements, with a plan to obtain a bachelor’s degree (approved by the Vice President – Learning & Chief Academic Officer).
- At least four years of occupational experience in the program, with a minimum of two years within the last five years. One year (or 2,000 hours) may be waived for instructors with at least two years of post‑secondary teaching experience within the past five years.
- Desired: teaching or training experience.
- Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality educational programs, including curriculum development.
- Upon hire, must maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain accreditation, if applicable.
- Wisconsin Cosmetology licensure required.
- Proficiency with learning management systems.
- Strong verbal communication skills.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing demands and assignments.
- Professional engagement in continuous improvement and innovative instruction.
- In‑person instruction with additional online learning components.
- Typical classroom or lab setting.
- Sitting for extended periods using computer systems and equipment.
- Mobility to move around classrooms and labs while instructing.
- Ongoing light to moderate lifting up to 15 pounds.
- Fine motor skills for writing, demonstrating, and using instructional technology.
- Repetitive motions such as typing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with employees, students, and stakeholders.

Pay and BenefitsPay: $89,500.00 – $, based on experience, qualifications, education, and market data.
