Instructor - Science (Anatomy & Physiology) - Two Positions

Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) is seeking two instructors to teach Anatomy & Physiology courses including General and Advanced A&P, Human Biology, Animal Biology, and Basic Anatomy on a 38‑week contract. Candidates will be based primarily on the Appleton Main Campus and Oshkosh Riverside Campus and will contribute to student learning, curriculum development, and community engagement.

Job Description Summary

Instructors will facilitate student learning, develop curriculum, and implement instructional strategies that promote student success across multiple modalities (hybrid, in‑person, online). They will also engage in departmental and professional activities and maintain accreditation standards.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Learning Facilitation – Foster student learning through instructional strategies, integrating technology and multiple delivery methods.
  • Assessment – Assess student learning, provide feedback, and use data to improve outcomes.
  • Curriculum Development – Develop and revise competency‑based curriculum aligned with employer expectations and college policy.
  • Classroom Management – Maintain schedules, attendance, and safety, and ensure instructional materials are available.
  • Team Participation – Contribute to departmental meetings, budgeting, and initiatives.
  • Business & Community Engagement – Build relationships with industry, community, and clinical partners; participate in recruitment events.
  • Student Success & Support – Advocate for students, advise on schedules and career information, and collaborate with Student Services.
  • Professional Development – Pursue emerging trends, networking, and new technologies to improve teaching; meet FQAS and accreditation requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Anatomy & Physiology (MD, DO, DC, DVM preferred); or a related field with at least 18 graduate credits in Human Anatomy.
  • Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction licensure in science discipline or specific subfield, or equivalent.
  • Prior teaching or curriculum development experience in Anatomy or a related discipline.
  • Experience delivering instruction across in‑person, online, and hybrid modalities.
  • Must meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements and any licensure required by accrediting agencies.

Work Environment
  • Primary classroom teaching.
  • Online and hybrid teaching.
Physical Requirements
  • Mobility – move around classroom or instructional space.
  • Standing and sitting for extended periods during lectures, grading, and office hours.
  • Lifting/carrying teaching materials, equipment, or props.
  • Speech and hearing – clear verbal communication.
  • Fine motor skills – writing on whiteboard, demonstrating experiments, working with technology.
  • Visual acuity – read materials and operate equipment.
  • Health and safety – ensure a safe learning environment and respond to emergencies.
  • Travel – off‑site teaching, fieldwork, or professional development.
  • Repetitive motions – typing, without discomfort.
  • Communication – clear verbal and written communication with staff, candidates, stakeholders.

Additional Information

Pay: $73,900.00 – $86,900.00 per year, based on experience, qualifications, education, and market data.
