Regular Faculty position at Fox Valley Technical College, Appleton Main Campus. 40 hours per week. 38‑week contract.

Job Overview

This role is for a Nursing Instructor who facilitates student learning, develops curriculum, and supports student success through various instructional strategies. The position is hybrid, combining in‑person and virtual teaching.

Key Responsibilities
  • Learning Facilitation: Foster student learning by creating engaging instructional strategies that meet diverse needs and support engagement.
  • Design learning experiences that integrate technology and offer hybrid, in‑person, virtual, and online delivery.
  • Assessment: Assess student learning, provide regular feedback, and use data to measure outcomes such as persistence, retention, completion rate, and course success.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop and continually revise competency‑based curriculum and instructional materials aligned with employer expectations and institutional policies.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain accurate attendance and grading records, create a safe instructional environment, and ensure course materials are available to students.
  • Team Participation: Engage in department and division activities, including planning, budgeting, and meetings, and stay current with institutional initiatives.
  • Business & Community Engagement: Build relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners through advisory committees, external meetings, and recruitment events.
  • Student Success & Support: Advocate for students, collaborate with Student Services to retain and close achievement gaps, provide career guidance, internships, and program information.
  • Professional Development: Pursue emerging trends, occupational practices, and teaching techniques; network with industry leaders and integrate new technology; maintain faculty quality assurance and accreditation requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Nursing is required.
  • Minimum two years of occupational experience as a Registered Nurse, with at least one year of employment within the five years preceding hire.
  • Five years of occupational experience is preferred.
  • Experience in assessment of clients in acute care, long‑term care, or community nursing is required.
  • Prior teaching or training experience is preferred.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with active Wisconsin licensure.
  • Meet and maintain clinical documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in learning management systems.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Adapt quickly to changing demands and assignments.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with diverse audiences.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in instructional quality.
Work Environment &

Physical Requirements
  • Hybrid teaching: in‑person and virtual.
  • Mobility required to move around classroom and instructional spaces.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods during lectures and to sit for grading, office hours, and administrative tasks.
  • Capacity to lift and carry teaching materials, equipment or props as needed.
  • Clear speech and hearing to interact with students.
  • Fine motor skills for whiteboard work, skill demonstrations, and use of instructional technology.
  • Adequate visual acuity for reading course materials and operating equipment.
  • Ability to ensure a safe learning environment and respond to emergencies.
  • Travel may be required for off‑site teaching or professional development.
  • Perform repetitive motions (typing, data entry) without discomfort.
Communication & Professional Development
  • Excellent written and verbal communication for interacting with employees, students, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in continuous improvement of instruction through innovative methodologies and delivery methods.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting salary range: $81,300 – $95,600 per year, based on experience, qualifications, and market data.
