The Recess Instructional Paraprofessional plays an important role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging recess environment where all students can learn, grow, and build positive relationships. This position supports student social-emotional development through active supervision, positive behavior support, and meaningful engagement in play. The ideal candidate is a strong team player, effective collaborator, and caring adult who believes every interaction is an opportunity to support student success.
The Recess-Instructional Paraprofessional supports teachers by performing clerical tasks, assisting with instructional activities, and supervising students in various school settings. Responsibilities include organizing materials, helping with technology and assessments, and providing one-on-one or small group student support under teacher guidance. This role also involves supervising students during recess, lunch, hallways, and other activities to ensure a safe and positive environment. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be willing to train in instructional technology and de-escalation strategies.
Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this position, along with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic school environment.
