Lake Union Conference | Wisconsin Conference

Wisconsin Academy is seeking a qualified and mission-driven High School History Teacher for the upcoming school year. This position provides an opportunity to serve in a Christ-centered, Seventh-day Adventist boarding high school committed to academic excellence, spiritual growth, and whole-person development.

About the School

Wisconsin Academy, established in 1903, is a Seventh-day Adventist secondary school located in Columbus, Wisconsin. The school serves a diverse student body in a residential setting, emphasizing strong academics, spiritual life, and student engagement through service, leadership, and extracurricular programs. Located in Columbus, Wisconsin, a small, welcoming community approximately 30 minutes from Madison, offering access to cultural, educational, and recreational opportunities while maintaining a quiet, rural setting.

Responsibilities
  • Teach high school History courses (World History, American History, Government, Geography)
  • Integrate faith and learning within the Seventh-day Adventist educational framework
  • Maintain an engaging and supportive classroom environment
  • Participate in campus spiritual life, including worship and student mentorship
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff in support of school initiatives
  • Engage in extracurricular and/or residential programming as needed
Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a History-related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • Current teaching certification or eligibility for certification
  • Commitment to the mission and beliefs of the Seventh‑day Adventist Church
  • Strong instructional and classroom management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a boarding school environment
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not required
  • Salary and benefits in accordance with conference and union education policies
