Description:
Location: Butler Ridge Wind near Mayville, WI (non‑travel, permanent)
Join the nation's largest infrastructure developer as a Wind Technician. As a Wind Technician, you will be the critical front line to ensure the safe and optimal performance of all wind farm operations. You will primarily focus on the safe execution of field-based equipment maintenance and diagnostics, as well as long‑term reliability and profitability.
- Implementing Operation Safety Policy Instructions, conducting fieldwork in compliance with OSHA regulations, encouraging good employee safety practices, and driving an unparalleled employee safety culture.
- Participating in Business Lean Six Sigma processes and projects.
- Recruiting and developing other technicians for the ongoing development of the team.
- Supporting site manager for all phases of timely safety, environmental, financial reporting, and turbine availability.
- Collaborating closely with internal Next Era users to develop and implement operation-focused feedback and solutions for planned and unplanned maintenance, improvement projects, development, and financial performance.
- Presenting a positive professional representation of Next Era Energy in the community and with the customer.

Employees in this role perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on wind turbines and other associated equipment. Individuals understand the mechanics—both electrical and maintenance of hydraulics—of all wind turbine components. The position requires replacement of mechanical and electrical components, understanding of schematics, and use of appropriate diagnostic tools. The successful candidate will interpret fault reports, maintain power generation reports, service logs in the computer database, and monitor turbine performance and SCADA systems.
Job Duties & Responsibilities- Perform regular preventative maintenance and repair on wind turbine power generation equipment.
- Complete electrical, electronic, and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Maintain all company supplied equipment, facilities, and tooling.
- Apply basic understanding of the technical and process functions.
- Manage own training schedules and meet all training requirements within designated time frames.
- Be able to meet attendance requirements.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
- High School graduate or GED.
- 0+ years of experience.
- Valid driver’s license (non‑CDL).
- Ability to climb a wind turbine up to 300 feet.
- Post‑Offer Functional Capacity Evaluation.
- Associate’s degree.
